Placement at DME Law School

The realm of the legal profession has expanded considerably over the decades. The scope for a law student extends beyond litigation in Courts. A legal professional finds career scope in almost all areas including corporate, banking, human rights, and many other professional spheres. DME Law School aims to provide its students opportunities of professional training, interactive sessions with legal luminaries and industry leaders, internship opportunities, and promising campus placement opportunities. The journey of a law student as a budding law student in the first year culminating in the development as a promising legal professional is what the Training and Placement Cell of DME Law School aspires for.

Training at DME

The students are provided training through international conferences, assignments, class activities, guest lectures, moot courts and mock trials to equip them to be better lawyers. The students are taken to visits to the National Human Rights Commission, Legal aid training camps, prisons etc.  The DME Law School conducts guest lectures and other interactive sessions to provide exposure outside the curriculum. Mock interviews, skill training, resume and portfolio building workshops, presentations, certificate courses are part of the everyday DME life. The Training and Placement Cell facilitates them with various internship opportunities.

The final steps before reaching out to the world for every DME student are the numerous campus drives conducted by recruiters across the spectrum. Numerous reputed law firms, MNCs and Start up enterprises find themselves hiring from DME’s talent pool every year! It is a matter of pride DME that despite the challenging conditions of Covid and lockdown, placements have not gone down but instead have continued and thrived!

ALUMNI CONNECT 2021- MOCK INTERVIEW BY ALUMNI

The Training and Placement Cell, DME Law School organised a mock interview session with the alumni of DME Law School for 4th year law students (Batch 2018- 2023).The event was organised with the aim of advancing fundamental opportunities to the participants to enhance their analytical, interpersonal, communication, interview -handling skills and such other legal aptitudes. The event was attended by more than thirty 4th year law students and was graced by 4 Alumni.

The event started with the Inaugural session presided over by Director, DME, Prof. (Dr) Ravikant Swami and accompanied by, (Dr) Rashmi Nagpal, Dean, DME Law School and Dr. R.K Randhawa, Academic Coordinator (law). The alumni were felicitated by the college authorities. The event was conducted under the leadership of Ms. Komal Kapoor, Convener, Training and Placement Cell, DME Law School and Mr. Gunjan Agrahari, Co-Convener, Training and Placement Cell, DME, Law School.

 

MASTERS IN LAW: LL.M. INDIA OR ABROAD – CAREER & FUTURE PROSPECTS, 27TH JANUARY, 2022

On January 27th, 2022 Training and Placement Cell DME organized a virtual event which focused on providing an overview on pursuing an LLM in India or Abroad. The session was chaired by three alumnae of DME, Ms. Joyce Jacob, Research Assistant at University of Glasgow, Masters in Law from University of Glasgow; Ms. Trupti Panigrahi, Assistant Lecturer and Assistant Dean Jindal Global Law School, Masters in Law from Queen Mary University of London & Ms. Vallabha Gulati, Student, Masters in Law from University of Cambridge. The Chair also consisted of two Faculty members from DME Law School, Ms. Bedapriya Lahiri, Masters in law from National Law University, New Delhi and Ms. Shambhavi Mishra, Masters in Law from Indian Law Institute, New Delhi.

Ms. Vallabha Gulati, threw light upon the application process for universities abroad and shared how the golden triangle of LOR, SOP & CV is to be maintained while applying for them; Ms. Joyce Jacob, answered some of the most important questions including ‘How to choose which country to go for LLM’, ‘Who to approach for guidance’, ‘Important documents to prepare’ & ‘what to keep in mind while writing one’s statement of purpose’; finally Ms. Trupti Panigrahi shared her thoughts on whether one should go for an LLM or not & how one can introspect on it.

 

LET’S BE PREPARED: LEADERSHIP TRAJECTORY IN CORPORATE LAW

“The one great principle of corporate law is to generate business for itself”. In the spirit of above,The Internship and Placement Cell, DME Law School under UG Professional Development Series organised an interactive session  Let’s be prepared: Leadership trajectory in Corporate Law for the 5th Year Students on November 20th, 2021 at 3:00 pm onwards via zoom platform.

The resource person for the same was Ms. Namrata Bhagwatula, Senior Associate, AZB & Partners. She guided the students on various nuances of corporate law and on how to successfully make a career in big corporations. She also addressed a variety of questions posed to her by the students and shared tips and tricks on how to achieve greater heights in this field.
